About On-site Diagnostics
When required, Dr. Walker is able to conduct ultrasound examinations during your consultations. This enables accurate and immediate diagnosis, and better explanation of the injury or pain you may be experiencing – understanding the nature of your injury is a crucial first step towards developing a suitable rehabilitation and treatment plan. Dr Walker’s expertise in the diagnostics field ensures all of this can be efficiently addressed in a single appointment, saving you both the time and expense of having to book multiple appointments and having instant feedback of your rehabilitation plan.
After a suitable diagnosis has been made, and often alongside your physiotherapist, there are a number of therapeutic options available, which may be recommended based on your unique circumstance.

Interventions may include use of:
- Local anaesthetic – to reduce pain and occasionally to simply confirm an accurate diagnosis of the source of the pain.
- Cortisone (a potent anti-inflammatory).
- Viscosupplementation Gel – for early knee arthritis and cartilage lesions.
- Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) – utilising the natural anti-inflammatories and growth factors found in your own blood platelets.
- Hydrodissection or high volume stripping for chronic tendinopathies.
- Prolotherapy and other adjuncts.
Many treatments for musculoskeletal conditions can incorporate injections to assist with pain management and/or facilitation of the healing process. Crucially, by alleviating pain, this enables you to advance your rehabilitation and reloading exercises in a faster and often more efficient manner.
